In the Darkest Hour
The hardest part about being a wife and a mother is being strong when you feel as though you do not have any strength left. When your endurance has run its course, you’ll begin to think "I'm just not cut out for this task". The whole being a mother thing with two children, under the age of one is proving to be more of a challenge than a reward. On top of that you need to be strong for your husband. I mean, he is the one putting his life on the line for you and all of America. It is so easy to be that powerful wife when your rock is right there with you; cheering you on and giving you that extra hand when you need it. Then all of a sudden duty calls, and he's off to another training, and it's just you; you and those beautiful children you two have created. You get frustrated and want to cry because at the most difficult and frustrating times you want someone to say "here, let me help you." Instead you hear nothing but the screams and cries of your children in the background while you battle thoughts in your mind, like how your husband is to blame for everything going wrong and how weak of a woman you really are (so you think). You could pull your hair out and you're exhausted. You miss sleeping next to your husband. Your eight-month-old is teething, waking up crying every few hours during the night so sleep is almost nonexistent....
This. This is me. I feel like everything is spinning out of control around me and I just cannot keep up. And while some days are more difficult than others, I repeat in my mind how hard this is getting, how this isn't what I planned for and all the ways I could walk away.
BUT GOD. He's really the one in control of it all. Your amazing children and courageous husband are depending on you. You can't quit! You don't get a day off from greatness. You let those tears fall and you get it done. I know sometimes you think you really can't make it another day...but somehow you do!
Philippians 4:13 " I am able to do all things through Him who strengthens me."
Joshua 1:9 "Haven't I commanded you: be strong and courageous? Do not be afraid or discouraged, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go."
Proverbs 31: 28-29 " Her sons rise up and call her blessed. Her husband also praises her: "Many women are capable, but you surpass them all!"
